DO YOU TRAVEL?
YES! Traveling is one of my favorite ways to experience the world. My travel fees are calculated per location (flight, car, and hotel). To receive detailed pricing info, please fill out the inquiry form found here.
SHOULD I BOOK A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
First, it is important to know that this is a pricey add-on, mainly because I am working with seasoned photographers. I do not hire someone who just got their first DSLR to document your wedding. I will bring a professional!
Second, I shoot about 75% of my weddings solo with two cameras, acting almost like two people. That being said, I highly recommend having an additional photographer for over 150 guests.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT "SMILE AT THE CAMERA" PHOTOS?
Let's be honest for a second, most parents and grandparents desire these photos more than anyone, therefore of course I will grab a few posed, smiling photos at every portrait session and wedding. However, it is important to know that I have an overall documentary style so naturally, this is not the focus. My typical client or couple desires organic, naturally occurring interactions between one another, their families, and their wedding guests.
SPEAKING OF WEDDINGS: DO YOU NEED A SHOT LIST?
I do ask that you provide a family photos shot list so I make sure no one is forgotten; beyond that, I prefer not to work off a list. It is quite challenging to capture the dynamic moments in front of me when I am looking down at a bullet-point checklist!
DO YOU OFFER THE DIGITAL FILES?
Photos are meant to be shared! So yes, I include edited, high-resolution images in all my packages.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL YOU DELIVER?
Rather than aiming for a certain number, I focus on creating quality images that honestly tell the story in front of me. That said, I generally deliver a minimum of 40 polished images per portrait session and 70-100 per hour at weddings and events.
OF THOSE, WHAT PERCENTAGE OF COLOR IMAGES ARE DELIVERED? BLACK & WHITE?
Typically about 70-80% of the images in my galleries are delivered in color, while the others are delivered in B&W. Be advised that B&W images are a defining part of my aesthetic, as you may have seen from my site and social media posts. I usually apply a B&W treatment to images that are truly stronger or more interesting in B&W (artistically speaking) or in response to a challenging circumstances (ie: unflattering or dark lighting). If you would like an image re-processed in color or B&W after final delivery, there is additional $5 fee applied per treatment.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
Portrait session images are delivered no later than two weeks after the session and wedding images are delivered no later than six weeks after the wedding date. Rush processing is available for an additional cost.
HOW DO I GO ABOUT BOOKING YOU?
PORTRAITS: A retainer fee of $25 and a signed contract are required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due on the day of the shoot.
WEDDINGS: A retainer fee of $100 and a signed contract are required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to the big day.
CAN I POST MY IMAGES TO SOCIAL MEDIA SITES AND/OR BLOGS?
I would love that! I do ask that you always give credit where credit is due. Give a little Erika Coy Photography shout out when sharing your images on networking sites and personal blogs. And please never sell the images or attempt to alter the images in any way.
